Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling fruit before its goodness becomes apparent (the meaning of "goodness becomes apparent" will be mentioned in a hadith after a few ahadith as a marfu’ narration).

It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of fruits before their ripening.

It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Jubair that a man asked Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) about the purchase of fruits. He replied: The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of fruits before their ripening.

Hazrat Abu Huraira narrates to Hazrat Muawiyah that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of fruits until they are safe from calamity.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Sa'id that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of fruits before their ripening. The people asked, "What is the ripening of fruits?" He replied: When the afflictions of the fruits have ended and the fruit has become safe (i.e., when the usual time of afflictions has passed and the time of protection has begun).

Hazrat Abu Al-Jari narrates that I asked Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) about the sale of dates. He replied: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of dates until a person eats from them, or (he said) until they can be eaten. And until they can be weighed. I asked: What is meant by their being weighed? Then a man sitting with him replied: Until they are secured.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of dates until they had matured. Hazrat Anas was asked, "What is meant by their maturity?" He replied: "That they become red or yellow."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Umamah that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of fruits before their ripeness and goodness became apparent.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade the sale of fruits before they ripen. And (Imam) Abu Hanifa's opinion has been mentioned that there is no harm in selling them unripe, and this statement is contrary to the hadith.
