Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah that whoever buys a musarrat (an animal whose owner withholds its milk with the intention that, seeing its udders full, the buyer will pay a higher price), he has the option in this sale: if he wishes, he may return the musarrat and along with it, return one sa’ of dates as well.

Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila narrates from a companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever buys a Musarrat (a she-camel or cow whose milk has been withheld), he has two options: if he wishes to return it, he should return it along with one sa’ of dates or one sa’ of wheat. And (Imam) Abu Hanifa's opinion contrary to this has been mentioned.
