Hadith 38859
٣٨٨٥٩ - حدثنا ابن عيينة عن عمرو عن جابر بن زيد عن ابن عباس قال: صليت مع النبي ﷺ ثمانيا جميعا وسبعا جميعا (١).
Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid narrates from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: I have performed eight (rak‘ahs) together and seven (rak‘ahs) together with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The narrator says: I said, O Abu Sha‘sha‘! In my opinion, he delayed Zuhr and performed ‘Asr early (so eight rak‘ahs were performed together), and delayed Maghrib and performed ‘Isha early (so seven rak‘ahs were performed together). He said: That is also my opinion.
Hadith 38861
٣٨٨٦١ - حدثنا ابن عيينة عن الزهري عن سالم عن أبيه أن النبي ﷺ كان إذا جَدَّ به السير جمع بين المغرب والعشاء (١).
Hazrat Salim narrates from his father that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to travel, he would combine the Maghrib and Isha prayers.
Hadith 38862
٣٨٨٦٢ - حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن أبي الزبير عن أبي الطفيل عن معاذ بن جبل أن النبي ﷺ جمع بين الظهر والعصر والمغرب والعشاء (في السفر) (١) في غزوة تبوك (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Muadh bin Jabal that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) combined the Zuhr and Asr prayers, and the Maghrib and Isha prayers during the journey of the Battle of Tabuk.
Hadith 38863
٣٨٨٦٣ - حدثنا ابن مسهر عن ابن أبي ليلى عن عطاء عن جابر قال: جمع النبي ﷺ في غزوة تبوك بين الظهر والعصر، وبين المغرب والعشاء (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) combined the Zuhr and Asr, and the Maghrib and Isha prayers during the Battle of Tabuk.
Hadith 38864
٣٨٨٦٤ - حدثنا يزيد عن محمد بن إسحاق عن حفص بن عبيد اللَّه بن أنس قال: كنا نسافر مع أنس إلى مكة، فكان إذا زالت الشمس وهو في منزل لم يركب حتى يصلي الظهر، فإذا راح فحضرت (العصو) (١) صلى العصر، فإن سار من منزله قبل أن تزول (الشمس) (٢) فحضرت الصلاة قلنا: الصلاة، فيقول: سيروا، حتى إذا كان بين الصلاتين نزل فجمع بين الظهر والعصر، ثم قال: رأيت النبي ﷺ إذا وصل ضحوتَه بروحته صنع هكذا (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Hafs bin Ubaidullah bin Anas, he says that we used to travel towards Makkah with Hazrat Anas. So when the sun would decline and Hazrat Anas was staying at a place, he would not mount (his ride) before performing the Zuhr prayer. And when he would mount in the evening and the time for Asr was present, he would perform Asr. But if he had departed from his place before the sun's decline and the time for prayer arrived and we would say, "Prayer?" he would say: "Keep moving." Until when it was between the two prayers, he would dismount and combine Zuhr and Asr, and then say that I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that when he would travel continuously from morning till evening, he would do likewise.
Hadith 38865
٣٨٨٦٥ - حدثنا أبو خالد الأحمر عن حجاج عن عمرو بن شعيب عن أبيه عن جده أن النبي ﷺ جمع بين الصلاتين في غزوة بني المصطلق (١).
It is narrated from the grandfather of Hazrat Amr bin Shu'aib that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) combined two prayers during the Battle of Banu Mustaliq. And (Imam) Abu Hanifa's opinion has been mentioned that: this act is not sufficient for the one who does so.
