Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Alia, in the commentary of the verse { کَانُوا قَلِیلاً مِنَ اللَّیْلِ مَا یَہْجَعُونَ } of the Holy Quran, says that they used to sleep very little of the night.

Hazrat Abu Alia, in the commentary of the verse { لاَ یَمَسُّہُ إِلاَّ الْمُطَہَّرُونَ } of the Holy Quran, says that it does not refer to you; you are the sinful ones.

Hazrat Abu Alia saw a man performing ablution. When he had completed his ablution, he said, "O Allah, make me among those who repent and make me among those who purify themselves." Upon hearing this, Hazrat Abu Alia said, "achieving purity through water is a good thing, but the real purification is to be purified from sins."

It was the practice of Hazrat Abu Alia that whenever he intended to complete the recitation of the Holy Qur'an in the last part of the day, he would postpone it until the evening, and if ever he was about to complete the Qur'an in the last part of the night, he would postpone it until the morning.

Hazrat Abu Alia narrates that the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to me: Do not perform deeds for anyone other than Allah, otherwise Allah will entrust you to the one for whom you performed that deed.

Hazrat Qais bin Hubtar says that fainting is from Satan.

Musa Jahni narrates that every coming night announces: O son of Adam! Perform good deeds in me, for I will never return to you again.
