Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated about Hazrat Khaythamah that he used to say: Satan says, "The son of Adam prevails over me, but he does not prevail over me in three things: when he takes wealth without right, or withholds wealth despite having the right, or spends wealth somewhere without right."

It is narrated about Hazrat Khaythamah that he used to say: Satan says, "How can the son of Adam overpower me? When he is pleased, I come until I sit in his heart, and when he is angry, I fly until I reach his head."

It is narrated from Hazrat Ismail bin Abi Khalid that he says: I heard Hazrat Khaithema say regarding the Divine Command { یَوْمًا یَجْعَلُ الْوِلْدَانَ شِیبًا }. He said: On the Day of Resurrection, a caller will call out: Let those destined for Hell come out—nine hundred and ninety-nine out of every thousand. Because of this, children will become old.

Hazrat A’mash narrates about Hazrat Khaythamah. He says that Hazrat Khaythamah called me. When I arrived, some people wearing turbans and shawls came on horses. I considered myself insignificant and went back. The narrator says that after this, when he met me, he said: What happened that you did not come? The narrator says I replied: I did come, but I saw people wearing turbans and shawls riding horses, so I considered myself insignificant. Upon this, Hazrat Khaythamah said: By God! You are dearer to me than them. The narrator says: When we used to go to Hazrat Khaythamah, he would take out a basket from under his couch and say: Eat, by God! I have no desire for it, but I prepare this for you.

Hazrat A’mash narrates regarding Hazrat Khaythamah, he says that his people used to trouble him. He said: These people trouble me even though such a thing has never happened. By God! Whenever any of them asked me for something, I fulfilled it for him. And I do not trouble any of them. But (still) I am more hated by them than a black dog. And why do these people think this way? But the fact is, by God, a hypocrite never loves a believer.

It is narrated from Hazrat Khaythamah that he said: The angels submitted, "O Lord! The world has become distant from Your believing servant and he has been put forward for afflictions?" The narrator says: Allah Almighty said to (other) angels, "Show them the reward of the believer." So when the angels saw the reward of the believer, they said, "O Lord! Whatever condition befalls the believer in the world, it does not harm him." The narrator said: And the angels submitted, "O Lord! Afflictions have been removed from Your disbelieving servant and the world has been made spacious for him." The narrator says: Allah the Exalted said to the angels, "Show them the reward of the disbeliever." So when the angels saw the reward of the disbeliever, they said, "O Lord! Whatever the disbeliever receives in the world is not beneficial for him."

It is narrated from Hazrat Khaythamah, he says: Indeed, Allah Almighty, because of one man, drives Satan away from many houses.

It is narrated about Hazrat Khaythamah that he had made a will that he should be buried in the graveyard of the poor of his people.

It is narrated about Hazrat Khaythamah that he used to say: I know a man who wishes for death twice a year. I think he meant himself.

It is narrated from Hazrat Khaythamah that he says: Glad tidings are for the believer that after him, how his progeny is protected.

It is narrated from Hazrat Khaythamah that he says: The words { یَا أَیُّہَا الَّذِینَ آمَنُوا } that you read in the Holy Qur'an, in the Torah, in their place are the words "Ya ayyuhal masakeen" (O you poor ones).
