Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Ata bin Saib that he said Hazrat Abu’l-Bakhtari was soft-hearted, and whenever he heard lamentation, he would begin to weep.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu’l-Bakhtari regarding the Divine command { اتَّخَذُوا أَحْبَارَہُمْ وَرُہْبَانَہُمْ أَرْبَابًا مِنْ دُونِ اللہِ }. He says: Those people would obey them in making unlawful what was lawful, and likewise, in making lawful what was unlawful, they would obey them. In this way, those people worshipped them.

Hazrat Abu’l-Bakhtari says: If I am in a group that knows more than me, I prefer this more than being among a people where I am the greatest scholar.

Hazrat Abu Al-Bakhtari says: There are three things, being among which is more detestable to me than falling from the sky. Those people who find adornments and embellishments sweet, those who become weary of the Qur'an, and those who obey the creation in disobedience to the Creator; that is, the Khawarij and the people of Syria.

Hazrat Ata bin Saib says that Hazrat Abu’l-Bakhtari and his companions were such that if any of them heard someone praising him or began to feel self-admiration, he would turn his shoulders and say, “I humble myself for the sake of Allah.”

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Al-Bakhtari that he says: The earth feels the absence of a person of faith, and the pieces of earth become adorned for the believer when he intends to perform prayer.
