Hadith 37645
٣٧٦٤٥ - حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن إبراهيم عن همام قال: انتهيت إلى معضد وهو ساجد (نائم) (١) قال: (فأتيته) (٢) وهو يقول: اللهم اشفني من النوم بيسير -ثم مضى في صلاته.
It is narrated from Hazrat Hammam that he says: I went to Hazrat Mu'addad and he was in the state of prostration. He says: When I came to him, he was saying, "O Allah! Grant me cure from a little sleep." Then he started performing his prayer.
Hadith 37646
٣٧٦٤٦ - حدثنا عبد اللَّه بن نمير قال: حدثنا الأعمش عن إبراهيم عن علقمة قال: رُمي معضدٌ بسهم في رأسه، فنزع السهم من رأسه، ثم وضع يده على موضعه ثم قال: إنها لصغيرة، وإن اللَّه ليبارك في الصغيرة.
It is narrated from Hazrat Alqamah that he says Hazrat Mu'azzad was struck by an arrow in his head, so he removed the arrow from his head and then placed his hand on the spot. Then he said: This is minor, and Allah Almighty grants blessing even in what is minor.
Hadith 37647
٣٧٦٤٧ - حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن إبراهيم عن علقمة قال: أصاب ثوبه من دم معضد، قال: فغسله فلم يذهب أثره قال: (فكان) (١) يصلي فيه ويقول: إنه ليزيده إليّ حبا (من) (٢) دم معضد.
It is narrated from Hazrat Alqamah that he said blood from Hazrat Mu'azzad got onto his clothes. He says: He washed it but its stain did not go away. The narrator says that he used to pray in the same clothes and would say: Indeed, because of Mu'azzad's blood, this garment has become even more beloved to me.
Hadith 37648
٣٧٦٤٨ - حدثنا علي بن مسهر عن الأعمش عن عمارة قال: نزل معضد إلى جانب شجرة فقال: واللَّه ما أبا لي صليت لهذه من دون اللَّه أو أطعت مخلوقا في معصية اللَّه.
It is narrated from Hazrat Ammarah that he says Hazrat Mu'addad stopped by a tree and said: By Allah! I do not care whether I pray to it besides Allah or obey any creature in disobedience to Allah.
Hadith 37649
٣٧٦٤٩ - حدثنا جرير عن الشيباني قال: كان لمعضد أخ، قال: فكان يأتي السوق فيشتري ويبيع، وينفق على عياله (وعلى) (١) عيال معضد، قال: فكان يقول: هو خير مني، نحن في عياله ينفق علينا (واللَّه تعالى أعلم) (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Shaibani that he said Hazrat Mu'addad had a brother. The narrator says: He used to come to the market, buy and sell, and spend on his and Mu'addad's family. The narrator says they used to say: He is better than me. We are among his dependents. He spends on us.
