Sayings of Ubadah ibn al-Samit رضي الله عنه
Hadith 37540
٣٧٥٤٠ - حدثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن (شمر) (١) بن عطية عن شهر بن حوشب عن عبادة بن الصامت قال: إذا كان يوم القيامة قال اللَّه: ميزوا ما كان لي من (الدنيا) (٢) وألقوا (سائرها) (٣) في النار (٤).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit that he says: When the Day of Judgment will come, the Divine Command will be given: Separate whatever in the world was for Me, and throw the rest of the world into Hell.
Hadith 37541
٣٧٥٤١ - حدثنا (يعلى) (١) بن عبيد عن الأعمش عن عمارة (٢) بن حمزة شهر بن حوشب قال: جاء رجل إلى عبادة بن الصامت فقال: رجل يصلي يبتغي وجه اللَّه ويحب أن يحمد، قال: ليس بشيء، إن اللَّه (٣) يقول: أنا خير شريك، فمن كان له معي شريك فهو (له) (٤) كله لا حاجة لي فيه (٥).
It is narrated from Hazrat Shahr bin Hawshab that he says: A man came to Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: A man offers prayer for the pleasure of Allah and likes that he be praised for it. He (may Allah be pleased with him) said: This deed is of no (value). The command of Allah is: I am the best of partners. So, whoever associates someone with Me, then all of it is for him. I have no need of it.
Hadith 37542
٣٧٥٤٢ - حدثنا غندر عن شعبة عن الحكم قال: سمعت ميمون بن أبي شبيب يحدث عن عبادة بن الصامت قال: أتمنى لحبيبي أن يقل ماله ⦗٤٢٨⦘ (ويعجل) (١) موته (٢).
Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I like for my friend that his wealth be less or his death comes soon.
