Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he says Allah Almighty has said: O son of Adam! Devote yourself to My worship, I will fill your heart with contentment and remove your poverty. Otherwise, I will fill both your hands with occupations and will not remove your poverty.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he says: The soul of a believer is not taken until he sees glad tidings. Then, when his soul is taken, he calls out. There is no small or large animal in the house except for humans and jinn, but that they hear his voice: "Take me quickly to the Most Merciful of the merciful." Then, when he is placed on the bier, he says: "How slowly you are walking!" Then, when he is placed in his grave, he is made to sit, and his place in Paradise and the provisions prepared for him by Allah will be shown to him, and his grave will be filled with mercy, sweet basil, and musk. The narrator says: He will say, "O my Lord! Send me forward." It will be said, "Your time has not yet come. You have some brothers and sisters who have not yet joined you. But sleep for the coolness of your eyes." Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, no eating, drinking, pampered young boy or girl in this world sleeps as sweet and brief a sleep as that will be. Until, on the Day of Resurrection, he will raise his head for the glad tidings.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ubaid bin Bab that he says: I was pouring water for Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) from a waterskin when a man passed by him. So he (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: O so-and-so! Where are you intending to go? He said: To the market. He (may Allah be pleased with him) said: If you can buy death before you return, then buy it. The narrator says: Then he (may Allah be pleased with him) turned to me and said: Indeed, I fear Allah regarding that thing which is sought hastily before its destined time.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hazim that he says: I was passing by the grave of a freshly buried dead person along with Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), when he said: Two light rak‘ahs which you consider insignificant would be a provision for him, and this thing is more beloved to me than your world.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Uthman that he says: This statement reached me from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: Allah Almighty gives a believer the reward of one good deed as one hundred thousand good deeds. So I came to him and said: O Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him)! I have heard from you that you say Allah Almighty gives a believer the reward of one good deed as one hundred thousand good deeds? He said: Yes, and even two hundred thousand. In the Noble Qur’an regarding this is {إنَّ اللَّہَ لاَ یَظْلِمُ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّۃٍ وَإِنْ تَکُ حَسَنَۃً یُضَاعِفْہَا } So who knows the measure of this doubling? { وَیُؤْتِ مِنْ لَدُنْہُ أَجْرًا عَظِیمًا } He said: Paradise.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hazim that he says Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Whoever clothes someone with old clothes, Allah Almighty will clothe him with silk in return, and whoever clothes someone with new clothes, Allah Almighty will clothe him with brocade in return.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a guest sought permission to stay with an Ansari man. That Ansari had food only for himself and his children. So he said to his wife: Put the children to sleep and extinguish the lamp. The narrator says that upon this, the following verse was revealed: { وَیُؤْثِرُونَ عَلَی أَنْفُسِہِمْ وَلَوْ کَانَ بِہِمْ خَصَاصَۃٌ وَمَنْ یُوقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِہِ فَأُولَئِکَ ہُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ }.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he says: When a deceased person dies, the angels say, "What has he sent ahead?" And people say, "What has he left behind?"

It is narrated from Hazrat Ubaid that he says: I passed by a date palm tree along with Hazrat Abu Hurairah, so he said: O Allah! Feed us with that date which the children of Adam have not planted.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: Whoever weeps out of fear of Allah, the fire of Hell will not touch him until the milk returns to the udder, and the dust in the path of Allah and the smoke of Hell can never be combined in the nostrils of any Muslim servant.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: Whoever removes an evil from a believer, it is as if he has given life to a girl who was buried alive.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: There is no goodness in idle talk.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: A man passed by a well where there was a dog that had fallen and was near death due to thirst. The man found nothing to draw water with, so he took off his sock, filled it with water, and gave it to the dog to drink. Thus, Allah Almighty took account of this deed and admitted him into Paradise.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Salamah that he says: I went to Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) when he was ill. I took him in my lap from behind and said, "O Allah! Grant Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) healing." So he said, "O Allah! Make it more severe."
