Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Muhammad bin Wasi’ that he says Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) said to his son: O my son! The mosque should be your home. Because I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: “Mosques are the homes of the God-fearing. So whoever makes the mosque his home, Allah guarantees for him mercy and happiness, and guarantees for him to cross the path leading to Paradise.”

Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: "Whoever goes to the mosque in the morning or in the evening, Allah prepares hospitality for him in Paradise every time he goes to the mosque in the morning or evening."

It is narrated from Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib that he says: Indeed, among the servants of Allah, there are some who are like pegs of the mosques. The angels are their companions. So when the angels do not find them, they inquire about them. Then if they are ill, the angels visit them, and if they are occupied with some need, the angels assist them.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Ma’qal that he said: We used to say among ourselves that the mosque is a strong fortress for protection from Satan.

Hazrat Salman wrote to Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) in a letter: Surely, among those under the shade of the Throne will be the person whose heart remains attached to the mosque due to his love for the mosque.

It is narrated from Hazrat Umar that he said: Mosques are the houses of Allah on earth, and it is a right upon the one who is visited that he should honor his visitor.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: Whoever goes to the mosque to learn or teach any good, Allah Almighty writes for him the reward of a warrior who returns with spoils of war.

It is narrated from Hazrat Salman that he says: Whoever performs ablution and performs it well, then comes to the mosque in order to pray in the mosque, then this person is a visitor of Allah Almighty, and it is the right of the one who is visited to honor his visitor.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ka'b Ahbar that he says: I found in the Book of God that any believing servant who goes to the mosque in the morning and evening, and his going to the mosque in the morning and evening is only to learn or teach goodness, or for the remembrance and contemplation of God, then his example in the Book of God is like that of a Mujahid in the way of Allah.
