Hadith 37150
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Ukeem that he said: Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered a sermon to us and said: "Amma ba'd! Indeed, I advise you to fear Allah, the Exalted. And I advise you to praise Allah in the manner He deserves to be praised, and that you combine fear with longing, and that you combine earnest clinging with supplication. For Allah, the Exalted, has praised Hazrat Zakariya and his household. He said: {إنَّہُمْ کَانُوا یُسَارِعُونَ فِی الْخَیْرَاتِ وَیَدْعُونَنَا رَغَبًا وَرَہَبًا وَکَانُوا لَنَا خَاشِعِینَ } O servants of Allah! Then know this: Surely Allah, the Exalted, has held your souls in pledge for His right, and has taken firm covenants from you. And Allah, the Exalted, has purchased from you that which is little and perishable in exchange for that which is much and everlasting. This is the Book of Allah among you. Its wonders do not cease, nor does its light extinguish. So affirm the truth of His speech, and take admonition from His Book, and seek insight from it in the days of darkness. Allah, the Exalted, has created you only for worship, and has appointed the noble scribes over you. They know what you do. O servants of Allah! Then know this: You are spending your mornings and evenings in a respite, the knowledge of which is hidden from you. If you are able that your periods of respite end while you are engaged in the work of Allah, then do so. And you cannot do this except with the help of Allah. So hasten in the present moments of your respite, before your lives are completed and you are returned to your evil deeds. Surely, some people have devoted their times to others and have forgotten their own souls, but I forbid you from becoming like them. So hasten! So hasten! Salvation, salvation! For behind you is a swift pursuer whose passage is very swift."
Hadith 37151
It is narrated from Hazrat Dhahhak that he says: Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a bird sitting on a tree and said: O bird! Congratulations to you. By Allah! I wish I were like you. You sit on trees, eat fruits, and then fly away. You have neither reckoning nor punishment. By Allah! I wish I were a tree growing by the roadside. A camel would pass by me, pick me up, put me in its mouth, chew me, break me, and then turn me into dung and throw me out, but I would not be a human.
Hadith 37152
It is narrated from Hazrat Zubayd that he says: When the time of death of Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) approached, he sent a man to Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: I advise you with a will; if you remember it, then surely there is a right of Allah Almighty at night which Allah does not accept during the day, and surely there is a right of Allah Almighty during the day which Allah does not accept at night. And that until the obligatory acts are fulfilled, the voluntary acts are not accepted. And those whose deeds will be light on the Day of Resurrection, their deeds will be light only because they followed falsehood in the world and falsehood seemed light to them. And it is true for the scale that if only falsehood is placed in it, it becomes light. And those whose deeds will be heavy on the Day of Resurrection, their deeds will be heavy only because they followed the truth in the world and the truth seemed heavy to them. And for such a scale in which truth is placed on the Day of Resurrection, it is appropriate that it becomes heavy. Do you not see that Allah Almighty has mentioned the good deeds of the people of Paradise and has overlooked their mistakes? So a person says: I cannot reach those people. And Allah Almighty has mentioned the evil deeds of the people of Hell and has rejected their good deeds upon them. So a person says: I am better than those people. And Allah Almighty has mentioned the verse of mercy and the verse of punishment so that the believer may be fearful and desirous, and may not hope from Allah except for the truth, and may not throw himself into destruction with his own hands. So if you remember my words, then no unseen thing will be more beloved to you than death, and death is inevitable. And if you waste my words, then no unseen thing will be more hateful to you than death, and you cannot escape death.
Hadith 37153
It is narrated from Hazrat Rafi bin Abi Rafi that he said: I accompanied Hazrat Abu Bakr, and he had with him a sheet from the place of Fadak, which he would gather around himself while riding, and when we dismounted, we would wear it. This is the same sheet for which the tribe of Hawazin taunted Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). And they said: "Shall we pledge allegiance to the one with the sheet after the Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)?"

It is narrated from Hazrat Muhammad bin Ibrahim, he says that when this verse {إنَّ الَّذِینَ یَغُضُّونَ أَصْوَاتَہُمْ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللہِ أُولَئِکَ الَّذِینَ امْتَحَنَ اللَّہُ قُلُوبَہُمْ لِلتَّقْوَی } was revealed, Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Until my death, I will speak to you only like a man who whispers."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa that he says Hazrat Amr bin Aas said: By Allah! If Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) left this wealth, while a portion of this wealth was lawful for them, then either they were deceived or there was some deficiency in their judgment. (Then he said) By Allah! They were neither deceived nor deficient in judgment. And if these two personalities were such that what came to us after them was forbidden for us, then surely we are destroyed, and by Allah! This suspicion is only against us.
Hadith 37158

Should we not call a physician for you who will examine you? Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The physician has already examined me. The people asked: Then what did he say to you? Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: The physician said, "Whatever I have decided to do, I will surely do it."
