السباق على الإبل
Competing on Camels
Hadith 35833
٣٥٨٣٣ - حدثنا عبد الوهاب الثقفي عن حميد عن أنس قال: كانت ناقةٌ لرسول اللَّه ﷺ تسمى العضباء، فكانت لا تسبق، فجاء أعرابي على قعود له فسبقها، فشق ذلك على المسلمين فلما رأى رسول اللَّه ﷺ ما في وجوههم قالوا: يا رسول اللَّه سبقت العضباء، فقال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "حق على اللَّه أن لا (يرتفع) (١) في الدنيا (شيء) (٢) إلا وضعه" (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) had a she-camel named ‘Adhba’ which had never been defeated in a race. A Bedouin came and surpassed her. This was very hard on the Muslims. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw the signs of displeasure on the faces of the Muslims, the people said, “O Messenger of Allah! ‘Adhba’ has been defeated.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “It is established for Allah that He does not raise anything in this world except that He then lowers it.”
Hadith 35834
٣٥٨٣٤ - حدثنا أبو خالد الأحمر عن حميد عن أنس عن النبي ﷺ بنحو منه (١).
It is also narrated in a similar manner from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him).
Hadith 35835
٣٥٨٣٥ - حدثنا حفص عن جعفر عن أبيه أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ أجرى الإبل، ولم يذكر السَبق (١).
The same narration is reported from Hazrat Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) with different wording.
Hadith 35836
٣٥٨٣٦ - حدثنا أبو أسامة عن سعد بن سعيد قال: سمعت علي بن الحسين يقول: بينا رسول اللَّه ﷺ في غزوة تبوك فقالت الأنصار: السباق، فقال النبي ﷺ: " (السباق) (١) إن شئتم" (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), son of Hussain (may Allah have mercy on him), that the Messenger of Allah was in the Battle of Tabuk. The Ansar said, "Let there be a contest and competition." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If you wish, then have a contest."
