Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Saleem that there was a peace treaty between Hazrat Muawiyah and the Romans. Hazrat Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) advanced towards their territory so that when the term of the treaty ended, he could launch a sudden attack on them. Suddenly, from one side of the army, a person came saying, "Fulfill the covenant, do not betray! Fulfill the agreement, do not deceive!" That person was Hazrat Amr bin Abasah. He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Whoever has a treaty with a people should neither tie nor untie its knot until its appointed term has passed, or he should throw back the treaty to them on equal terms."

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When Allah Almighty will gather the first and the last on the Day of Resurrection, a flag will be raised for every deceiver, and it will be announced: This is the deception of so-and-so, son of so-and-so.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every deceiver will have a flag on the Day of Resurrection by which he will be recognized.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every deceiver will have a flag on the Day of Resurrection by which he will be recognized, and it will be said, "This is the deception of so-and-so, son of so-and-so."

It is narrated in a similar manner from Hazrat Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him).

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every deceiver (one who breaks a covenant) will have a flag on the Day of Resurrection, and his deceit will be beneath his buttocks.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every deceiver will have a flag on the Day of Resurrection.

It is also narrated in a similar manner from Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him).

Hazrat Qatadah (may Allah have mercy on him) regarding the verse of the Holy Qur'an {إِلاَّ کُلَّ خَتَّارٍ کَفُورٍ } says that it refers to the one who breaks the covenant.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every deceiver will have a flag on the Day of Resurrection by which he will be recognized.
