Those Who Said: In War Booty, the Married Person Is Given Preference Over the Unmarried
Hadith 35215
٣٥٢١٥ - حدثنا (يعمر) (١) بن بشر قال: ثنا ابن مبارك قال: أخبرنا صفوان بن عمرو عن عبد الرحمن بن جبير بن نفير عن أبيه عن عوف بن مالك قال: كان النبي ﷺ إذا (جاء) (٢) الفيء قسمه من يومه، فأعطى الآهل (حظين) (٣) وأعطى (الأعزب) (٤) حظا (٥).
Hazrat Awf bin Malik narrates that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) received the spoils of war (fay’), he would distribute it on the same day. Thus, he (peace be upon him) would give two shares to a married person and one share to an unmarried person.
