Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Husain (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that a man bought a slave woman from the spoils of war on the day of the Battle of Qadisiyyah, who brought with her some jewelry that she possessed. That man then came to Hazrat Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) and informed him about this matter. Hazrat Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) instructed: "Put this jewelry into the Muslims’ spoils of war."

Hazrat Abu Ishaq (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Muhammad bin Zaid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I bought a slave girl from the wealth of khums, and I found fifteen dinars with her. I brought those dinars to Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Khalid bin Walid (may Allah have mercy on him). He (may Allah have mercy on him) said: These dinars are yours.

Hazrat Shaibani (may Allah have mercy on him) states that Imam Sha’bi (may Allah have mercy on him), regarding the person who buys a female captive from the spoils of war and also finds silver with her, said: He will return that silver.
