Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Aamir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave a ruling regarding the captives of the pre-Islamic era: for a child, eight camels; and for a woman, ten camels or one ghurra. Ghurra means a male or female slave.

Imam Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: No one has ownership over the Arab. And we will not compel him in the least to accept Islam. But we will assign him a share in favor of the Muslim, that five camels each be given.

Hazrat Rabah bin Harith (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) made a decision regarding those Arab captives who had taken each other captive before accepting Islam or before the Prophethood of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Whoever among his family knows that someone is a slave in such-and-such Arab tribe, then his ransom will be two slaves in exchange for one slave, and two slave women in exchange for one slave woman.
