Narrations Reported Regarding the Tribe of Thaqif
Hadith 34676
٣٤٦٧٦ - حدثنا عبد الوهاب الثقفي عن عبد اللَّه بن عثمان بن (خثيم) (١) عن أبي الزبير (٢) أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ حاصر أهل الطائف فجاءه أصحابه فقالوا: يا رسول اللَّه (أحرقتنا) (٣) نبال ثقيف فادع اللَّه (عليهم) (٤)، فقال: "اللهم اهد ثقيفا" (٥).
Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) laid siege to the people of Ta’if, the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! The arrows of Thaqeef have burned us. So, pray to Allah against them. Upon this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed: O Allah! Grant guidance to the tribe of Thaqeef.
Hadith 34677
٣٤٦٧٧ - حدثنا الفضل بن دكين عن إبراهيم بن نافع عن الحسن بن مسلم عن طاوس قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "لقد هممت أن لا أقبل إلا من قرشي أو أنصاري أو ثقفي" (١).
Hazrat Tawoos (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, I have firmly resolved that I will not accept a gift from anyone except a Quraishi, or an Ansari, or a Thaqafi.
Hadith 34678
٣٤٦٧٨ - حدثنا يزيد بن هارون عن مسعر عن سعيد بن أبي سعيد المقبري عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "لقد هممت أن لا أقبل هدية إلا من (قرشي) (١) أو أنصاري أو ثقفي أو دوسي" (٢).
Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, I have firmly resolved that I will not accept a gift from anyone except a Quraishi, or an Ansari, or a Thaqafi, or a Dosi.
