Hadith 34583
٣٤٥٨٣ - حدثنا أبو معاوية ووكيع عن الأعمش عن أبي صالح عن أبي سعيد قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "لا تسبوا أصحابي، فوالذي نفسي بيده لو أن أحدكم أنفق مثل أحد ذهبًا ما أدرك مد أحدهم ولا نصيفه" (١).
Hazrat Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not revile my companions. By the One in Whose hand is my soul, if any one of you were to spend gold equal to Mount Uhud, it would not reach even a mudd of what they spent, nor even half of it.
Hadith 34584
٣٤٥٨٤ - حدثنا حسين بن علي عن أبي موسى عن الحسن قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ لأصحابه: "أنتم في الناس كالملح في (الطعام) (١) " (٢).
Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to his companions: "You are among the people just like salt is in food." The narrator says: Then Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Food is not good without salt." After that, Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "What will become of the people whose salt is gone?"
Hadith 34586
٣٤٥٨٦ - حدثنا حسين بن علي عن مجمع بن يحيى عن سعيد بن أبي بردة (عن أبي بردة) (١) عن أبيه قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "أصحابي أمنة لأمتي، فإذا ذهب أصحابي أتى أمتي ما يوعدون" (٢).
Hazrat Abu Burdah’s (may Allah have mercy on him) father narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: My companions are the trusted ones of my Ummah. So when my companions depart, then those things with which my Ummah has been warned will occur.
Hadith 34587
٣٤٥٨٧ - حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن منصور عن إبراهيم عن عبيدة عن عبد اللَّه قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "خير أمتي القرن الذين يلوني، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم يجيء قوم تسبق شهادة أحدهم يمينه، ويمينه شهادته" (١).
Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best era of my Ummah is the one which is joined with me. Then the era which is joined with those companions (may Allah be pleased with them). Then those people who are joined with them. Then a people will come in which a person's testimony will precede his oath, and his oath will precede his testimony.
Hadith 34588
٣٤٥٨٨ - حدثنا عبد اللَّه بن إدريس عن أبيه عن جده عن جعدة بن هبيرة قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "خير الناس قرني، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم الأخر أردى" (١).
Hazrat Ja'd bin Hubairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best of people are those of my generation, then those who follow them, then those whose time is joined with theirs, then others are inferior.
Hadith 34589
٣٤٥٨٩ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا الأعمش قال: ثنا هلال بن (يساف) (١) قال: سمعت عمران بن حصين يقول: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "خير الناس قرني، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم الذين يلونهم، (ثم الذين يلونهم) (٢) " (٣).
Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best people are those of my generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them, then those who follow them.
Hadith 34590
٣٤٥٩٠ - حدثنا غندر عن شعبة عن أبي جمرة قال: حدثني زهدم بن مضرب قال: سمعت عمران بن حصين يحدث أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ كان يقول: "إن خيركم قرني، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم الذين يلونهم"، فلا أدري قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: بعد قرنه مرتين أو ثلاثًا (١).
Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that indeed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: Indeed, the best people among you are those of my era, then those who are with them, then those who are with them. The narrator says: I do not know whether the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said this sentence twice or three times after mentioning his own era.
Hadith 34591
٣٤٥٩١ - حدثنا يحيى بن يعلى التيمي عن عبد الملك بن عمير عن قبيصة بن جابر قال: خطبنا عمر بباب الجابية فقال: إن رسول اللَّه ﷺ قام فينا كمقامي فيكم ثم قال: "أيها الناس اتقوا اللَّه في أصحابي، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم ⦗١٧٠⦘ (يفشو) (١) الكذب (وشهادات) (٢) الزور" (٣).
Hazrat Qabeesah bin Jabir (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) stood at the gate of Jabiyah and addressed us, saying: Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood among us just as I am standing among you today. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O people! Fear Allah regarding my Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), then those who meet them, and then those who meet those who meet them. Then falsehood and false testimony will become widespread.
Hadith 34592
٣٤٥٩٢ - حدثنا حسين بن علي عن زائدة عن عاصم عن خيثمة عن النعمان ابن بشير عن النبي ﷺ قال: "خير الناس قرني، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم الذين يلونهم، (ثم الذين يلونهم) (١)، ثم يأتي قوم تسبق شهادتهم أيمانهم وأيمانهم شهادتهم" (٢).
Hazrat Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best people are those of my generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them. Then there will come a people whose testimony will precede their oaths, and their oaths will precede their testimony.
Hadith 34593
٣٤٥٩٣ - حدثنا عفان قال: ثنا حماد بن سلمة عن الجريري عن أبي نضرة عن عبد اللَّه بن مولة قال: كنت أسير مع (أبي بردة) (١) الأسلمي فقال: سمعت رسول اللَّه ﷺ يقول: "خير هذه الأمة القرن الذي بعثت فيهم، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم (الذين يلونهم) (٢)، ثم يكون فيهم قوم تسبق شهادتهم أيمانهم، ⦗١٧١⦘ وأيمانهم شهادتهم" (٣).
Hazrat Abdullah bin Mawlah, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates that I was walking with Hazrat Buraidah Aslami, may Allah be pleased with him, when he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: The best individuals of this Ummah are those people of the era in which I was sent, then those who are joined with them, then those who are joined with them, then those who are joined with them. Then there will come a people whose testimonies will precede their oaths and whose oaths will precede their testimonies.
Hadith 34594
٣٤٥٩٤ - حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن (نسير) (١) بن (ذعلوق) (٢) قال: سمعت ابن عمر يقول: لا تسبوا أصحاب (محمد) (٣) ﷺ فلمقام أحدهم ساعة خير من عمل أحدهم عمره (٤).
Hazrat Naseer bin Zaalooq (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I heard Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) saying: Do not revile the companions of Muhammad ﷺ. For indeed, one moment of any one of them standing in the way of Allah is better than a lifetime of worship by any one of you.
Hadith 34595
٣٤٥٩٥ - حدثنا ابن نمير قال: ثنا الأعمش عن أبي إسحاق عن عمرو بن شرحبيل قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "خير الناس قرني، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم يجيء أقوام يعطون الشهادة قبل أن يسألوها" (١).
Hazrat Amr bin Shurahbil (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best people are those of my generation, then those who will follow them, then those who will follow them; then there will come people who will give testimonies before being asked.
Hadith 34596
٣٤٥٩٦ - حدثنا زيد بن الحباب قال: ثنا عبد اللَّه بن العلاء أبو الزبير الدمشقي قال: ثنا عبد اللَّه بن عامر عن واثلة بن الأسقع قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "لا تزالون بخير ما دام فيكم من رآني وصاحبني، واللَّه لا تزالون بخير ما دام فيكم من رأى من رآني وصاحب من صاحبني، (واللَّه لا تزالون بخير ما دام فيكم من رأى من رأى من ⦗١٧٢⦘ رآني، وصاحب من صاحب من صاحبني) (١) " (٢).
Hazrat Wathilah bin Asqa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You will remain in goodness as long as there is among you one who has seen me and kept my company. By Allah! You will remain in goodness as long as there is among you one who has seen the one who saw me and kept the company of the one who kept my company. And by Allah! You will remain in goodness as long as there is among you one who has seen the one who saw my companion and kept the company of the one who kept the company of my companion.
Hadith 34597
٣٤٥٩٧ - حدثنا وكيع عن هشام عن أبيه عن عائشة قالت: أُمروا بالاستغفار لأصحاب محمد ﷺ فسبوهم (١).
Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said that people were commanded to seek forgiveness for the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) of Muhammad (peace be upon him), and you people abuse them! ! !
Hadith 34598
٣٤٥٩٨ - حدثنا أبو معاوية عن محمد بن خالد عن عطاء قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "من سب أصحابي فعليه لعنة اللَّه" (١).
Hazrat Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever abuses my companion, then the curse of Allah is upon him.
Hadith 34599
٣٤٥٩٩ - حدثنا حسين بن علي عن عمر بن ذر قال: إني لقائم مع الشعبي ذات يوم فأتاه رجل فقال: ما تقول في علي وعثمان؟ فقال: إني لغني أن يطلبني علي وعثمان يوم القيامة بمظلمة.
Hazrat Umar bin Zar (may Allah have mercy on him) says that one day I was standing with Imam Sha’bi (may Allah have mercy on him) when a man came to him and asked: What do you say about Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him)? Upon this, he (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: I am unconcerned that on the Day of Judgment Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) would complain to me of oppression.
