Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abdullah bin Salma (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Shall I not inform you about the best person of this Ummah after the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? They are Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him).

Hazrat Abu Ishaq (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Zaid bin Yathi’ (may Allah have mercy on him) says that on the day of the Battle of Badr, Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was in the hut with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: For every person of action, there is a door of Paradise, and they will be called through that door because of their action. And for the fasting person, there is also a door which is called Rayyan. So Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Will there be anyone who will be called from all these doors? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes! And indeed, I hope that you, O Abu Bakr, will be among them.

Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Abu Bakr is our leader, and he freed our leader, that is, Hazrat Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him).

Hazrat Qasim bin Muhammad (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I was reciting this poem as an example while Abu Bakr was making a decision. "And the one with a radiant face, by whose countenance rain is sought from the clouds; the refuge of orphans and the protector of widows." So Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: That is the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
