Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Ibn Shihab narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) bin Husain did not make a child of adultery an heir, even if someone claimed his lineage.

Ibn Jurayj says that I asked the son of Hazrat Tawus, "What did your father say about a child born of adultery who is freed by his master or his chief, and then his father acknowledges his lineage, while the masters know that he is his son?" He replied, "He (my father) used to say that he will not be an heir."

Ibn Jurayj narrates that Hazrat Ata said: The child of adultery will be his heir if his chiefs know that he is his son, and if his mawla deny and dispute it, then he will not be the heir.

Ibn Jurayj narrates that Hazrat Amr bin Shu'aib said that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever commits adultery with a free woman, or with a slave woman belonging to a people, then he will not be an heir, nor will anyone else be his heir.

Ash'ath narrates that Muhammad, may Allah have mercy on him, said that a child born from adultery cannot be attributed in lineage to the adulterer.

Shubak narrates that Ibrahim said: A child born of adultery will not inherit; only that child will inherit whose father has not been subjected to the prescribed punishment, and whose mother has come into possession through marriage or purchase.

Hasan bin Hur narrates that Hazrat Hakam told me that a person born of adultery cannot be an heir to the one who acknowledges his lineage, nor will that person born of adultery be his heir.
