Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Shaibani narrates that Shu’bi asked me, “What is the opinion of Ibrahim bin Yazid regarding the son of the woman who performed li’an?” I replied, “He should be affiliated with his mother,” and Ibrahim said, “He should be affiliated with his father.” So we went to Abdullah bin Hurmaz, and he wrote a letter for us to the people of Madinah with whom this incident had occurred. In response to his letter, it was reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) affiliated him with his mother.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Ubaid bin Umair narrates that I asked, through a letter, one of my brothers living among Banu Zuraiq: For whom did the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) decide regarding the son of the woman who performed li'an? He replied in writing that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) decided in favor of his mother; his mother is for him in place of both mother and father.

Shu'bi narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said regarding the son of the woman who performed li'an that his 'asaba (agnatic relatives) are those who are his mother's 'asaba.

Nafi' narrates that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said that the 'asabah (agnatic relatives) of the son of the woman who performs li'an are the same people who are the 'asabah of his mother; he will inherit from them and they will inherit from him.

Mughira narrates that Ibrahim said: The 'asaba (agnatic relatives) of a woman who undergoes li'an are the same people who are the 'asaba of her mother; they will also be her heirs and will pay the blood money on her behalf.

Mutarraf reports from Sha’bi that his heir will be the person who is closest to his mother in relation.

Shu’bah narrates that Hazrat Hakam and Hammad say: The heir of a woman who performs li’an will be the person who is the heir of her mother.
