Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Fudail bin Amr narrates that Ibrahim said that six women become heirs: daughter, granddaughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and wife; and these become heirs of seven men: father, son, grandson, brother, husband, and grandfather; and she inherits one-sixth from her daughter, unless there is an 'asaba present.

A’mash narrates that Ibrahim said: There are six women who inherit from a man: daughter, granddaughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and wife. And a woman inherits from seven men: son, grandson, father, grandfather, husband, and brother. And she inherits one-sixth from her grandson, and the grandson does not inherit anything from them according to the statement of all the scholars.

Nu’man bin Salim reports that I asked Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) about a grandson: What do you say about a man who leaves behind his nephew? Will he inherit from him? He replied: No.
