Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Ibn Abi Khalid narrates that Hakim bin Jabir was advised at the time of death regarding making a will, that if you free your slave, it would be very good! He recited this verse { وَلْیَخْشَ الَّذِینَ لَوْ تَرَکُوا مِنْ خَلْفِہِمْ ذُرِّیَّۃً ضِعَافًا خَافُوا عَلَیْہِمْ }.

Ismail narrates about Hazrat Hakeem bin Jabir that when the time of his death came and he had a slave, it was said to him that it would be good if you set him free. He replied that I am not leaving any slave for my heirs except him. The narrator says that they said again that it would be good if you set him free, so upon this he recited the verse { وَلْیَخْشَ الَّذِینَ لَوْ تَرَکُوا مِنْ خَلْفِہِمْ ذُرِّیَّۃً ضِعَافًا خَافُوا عَلَیْہِمْ … سَدِیدًا }.

Nusayr narrates that a man said to Hazrat Rabi’ bin Khuthaym, “Bequeath your Mushaf to me!” He looked towards his younger son and recited this verse: “Some relatives have more right than others in Allah’s Book.”

Asim narrates that Hazrat Abu Al-Aaliyah fell ill, so he freed one of his slaves about whom it was said to him that he had gone across the river. He said, "If he is alive, I do not free him, and if he has died, then he is free." And then he mentioned this verse: { وَلَہُ ذُرِّیَّۃٌ ضُعَفَائُ }.
