Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hasan narrates that Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) made a bequest of four thousand dirhams each for his umm walad slave women.

Hasan narrates that Hazrat Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) made a will regarding his umm-e-walad slave women.

Ja'far bin Burqan narrates that I asked Maymun bin Mehran whether a man can make a will in favor of his umm walad slave woman. He replied that it is permissible to do so.

Jabir narrates that Hazrat Sha'bi had made a will in favor of his Umm-e-Walad slave woman.

Hakam narrates that Ibrahim said regarding the man who gives some wealth to his Umm-e-Walad slave woman, that it is permissible for him to do so.

Muammar says that I asked Yunus, "What is the ruling about a man who gave a gift to his umm walad slave woman and then died?" He replied, "Hasan used to say that the gift belongs to that slave woman."

Hammad narrates that Ibrahim said: When an umm walad slave woman secures something during her master's lifetime and then her master dies, that thing will belong to the slave woman, and the slave woman will become free. And if the deceased takes something back before dying or makes a will regarding what is with the slave woman, then he has the right to do so.
