Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Auf says that I was present with Hisham bin Hubairah when he made a judgment regarding a man who, at the time of his death, had bequeathed to his sister an amount equal to that of his two children, and among his heirs were both sons and daughters. The sister, for whom the bequest was made, wanted to consider herself equal to the male children, while the heirs wanted to give her a share equal to the female children. He ruled that the sister would be considered equal to the female children unless it was explicitly stated otherwise.

Auf al-A'rabi narrates that Hisham bin Hubairah gave a verdict regarding a man who had bequeathed wealth equal to one of his children for someone, while his offspring included both males and females, that this man would be given a share equal to that of a daughter. Abu Bakr says that Waki' also narrates the same from Sufyan, that he will be given wealth equal to the share of a daughter.
