Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from ‘Abad bin ‘Awwam that if the testator mentioned the name of the Mujahideen, then the thing should be given to the Mujahideen; otherwise, obedience to Allah Almighty is its way.

It is narrated from Abu Habibah that Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) said regarding the person who made a will to give something in the way of Allah, that it should be given to the Mujahideen.

Anas bin Sirin narrates that a woman made a bequest to give thirty dirhams in the way of Allah. During the time of separation, I asked Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), "A woman has made a bequest to give thirty dirhams in the way of Allah. Can we spend those dirhams on Hajj?" He replied: "Hajj is also one of the ways of Allah."

It is narrated from Waqid bin Muhammad bin Zaid that a man, at the time of his death, left some wealth and made a will for it to be given in the way of Allah. The executor of his will mentioned this matter before Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), so he said: "Give that wealth to those who work for Allah." He asked, "Who are those who work for Allah?" He replied: "The pilgrims of the House of Allah (the Ka'bah)."

Ayman bin Nabil narrates that a man asked Hazrat Mujahid about the person who had said that everything of his should be given in the way of Allah. He replied: There is not just one way of Allah; rather, every person who does a good deed is in the way of Allah.

Anas bin Sirin narrates that a man made a bequest to give something in the way of Allah. Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said: Hajj is also the way of Allah.
