Hadith 32835
Abu Asim Thaqafi says that Ibrahim met me and asked, "What do you say about the man who made a bequest of half, one third, and one fourth of his wealth?" I had no knowledge of the answer. He himself said: "Divide his wealth into such portions from which half, one third, and one fourth can be taken out, that is, make twelve parts. Half of it is six, one third is four, and one fourth is three. Now make thirteen parts of the wealth. Give to the one entitled to half as much wealth as comes in comparison to six, to the one entitled to one third as much as comes in comparison to four, and to the one entitled to one fourth as much as comes in comparison to three."
