Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Amr bin Dinar states that Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) entrusted Hazrat Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) with the responsibility of his will.

Abu Awn Thaqafi narrates that a man made his wife responsible for fulfilling his will, so Hazrat Shurayh permitted it.

The wife of Ibrahim says that Ibrahim, may Allah have mercy on him, entrusted me with the responsibility of carrying out a part of his will.

Abdul Malik narrates from Hazrat Ata, he said that a woman cannot be entrusted with the responsibility of executing a will; if a man does so, then a trustworthy man can be found and given this responsibility.

Waki’ says that I heard Sufyan say that a woman can be made responsible for a will because many women are better than men.
