Hadith 32522
٣٢٥٢٢ - حدثنا إسماعيل بن إبراهيم عن سعيد بن أبي عروبة عن سالم بن أبي الجعد الغطفاني عن (معدان) (١) (بن) (٢) أبي طلحة اليعمري أن عمر بن الخطاب قال يوم (جمعة) (٣) (أو) (٤) خطب يوم (جمعة) (٥) فحمد اللَّه وأثنى عليه ⦗٨٦⦘ ثم قال: أيها الناس، إني (٦) رأيت (كأن) (٧) ديكا أحمر نقرني نقرتين، ولا أرى ذلك إلا حضور أجلي (٨).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ma’dan bin Talhah Yamari that on one occasion, on the day of Jumu’ah, Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said—or the narrator says that on one occasion, on the day of Jumu’ah, he delivered a sermon and after praising and glorifying Allah, he said: O people! I saw in a dream a red rooster that pecked me twice, and I interpret this to mean that the time of my death is near.
Hadith 32523
٣٢٥٢٣ - حدثنا عبد اللَّه بن إدريس عن شعبة عن أبي (جمرة) (١) عن (جارية) (٢) ابن قدامة السعدي قال: حججت العام الذي أصيب فيه عمر قال: فخطب فقال: إني رأيت (كأن) (٣) ديكا نقرني نقرتين أو ثلاثًا (٤).
Hazrat Jariyah bin Qudamah Sa'di narrates that he said: The year in which Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was killed, I performed Hajj that year. He says that in his sermon, he (Hazrat Umar) said: I saw a rooster that pecked me two or three times.
Hadith 32524
٣٢٥٢٤ - حدثنا ابن نمير عن سفيان عن الأسود بن قيس عن عبد اللَّه بن الحارث الخزاعي قال: سمعت عمر بن الخطاب يقول في خطبته: إني رأيت البارحة ديكًا نقرني ورأيته (يجليه) (١) الناس عني، فلم يلبث إلا (ثلاثًا) (٢) حتى قتله عبد المغيرة: أبو لؤلؤة (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Harith Khuzai that I heard Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) saying in his sermon that last night I saw a rooster that pecked me, and I saw that people were keeping it away from me. After this, he did not remain for three days before he was martyred by Abu Lu’lu’, the slave of Mughira bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him).
Hadith 32525
٣٢٥٢٥ - حدثنا أبو أسامة عن (عمر) (١) بن حمزة قال: أخبرني سالم عن ابن عمر قال: قال عمر: رأيت رسول اللَّه ﷺ في المنام فرأيته لا ينظرني، فقلت: يا ⦗٨٧⦘ رسول اللَّه ما شأني؟ قال: ألست الذي تقبل وأنت صائم، (قلت) (٢): (فوالذي) (٣) بعثك بالحق لا أقبل بعدها وأنا صائم (٤).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in a dream. I saw that he was not looking at me. I said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! What is this state of mine?" He said, "Are you not the one who kisses his wife while fasting?" I said, "By Him Who sent you with the truth, I will not kiss my wife while fasting after today."
Hadith 32526
٣٢٥٢٦ - حدثنا ابن فضيل عن عطاء بن السائب قال: حدثني غير واحد أن قاضيًا من قضاة أهل الشام أتى عمر بن الخطاب فقال: يا أمير المؤمنين رأيت رؤيا أفظعتني، قال: ما هي؟ قال: رأيت الشمس والقمر يقتتلان والنجوم معهما نصفين، قال: فمع أيهما كنت؟ قال: مع القمر على الشمس، (قال) (١) عمر: ﴿وَجَعَلْنَا اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ آيَتَيْنِ فَمَحَوْنَا آيَةَ اللَّيْلِ وَجَعَلْنَا آيَةَ النَّهَارِ مُبْصِرَةً﴾ قال: فانطلق فواللَّه لا تعمل لي عملا أبدا (٢).
Hazrat Ata bin Saib narrates that many people told me that one of the judges from among the judges of Syria came to Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), and said, O Commander of the Faithful! I have seen a dream which has made me anxious. He (Umar) asked, What is the dream? He said, I saw the sun and the moon fighting with each other, while half of the stars were with each of them. He (Umar) asked, Whose side were you on? He said, with the moon. Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "And We have made the night and the day two signs, then We erased the sign of the night and made the sign of the day bright." (And We made the night and the day two signs, so We erased the sign of the night and made the sign of the day bright.) He (Umar) said: Go away, by Allah, you will never work for me!
Hadith 32527
٣٢٥٢٧ - حدثنا (سريج) (١) بن النعمان قال: حدثني عبد العزيز بن أبي سلمة عن زيد بن أسلم عن أبيه قال: خطب عمر بن الخطاب الناس فقال: إني رأيت في منامي ديكا أحمر نقرني على مقعد إزاري ثلاث نقرات، فاستعبرتها أسماء بنت (عميس) (٢) فقالت: إن صدقت رؤياك قتلك رجل من العجم (٣).
Hazrat Zaid bin Aslam narrates from his father that Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered a sermon before the people and said: I saw in a dream a red rooster that pecked me three times at the place where I tie my lower garment. I asked Asma bint Umais for its interpretation, and she said: If your dream is true, then a non-Arab man will kill you.
