Narrations Stating to Seek Refuge When Seeing Something Disliked in a Dream
Hadith 32516
٣٢٥١٦ - حدثنا عبد اللَّه بن نمير عن يحيى بن سعيد عن أبي سلمة عن أبي قتادة قال سمعت رسول اللَّه ﷺ يقول: "الرؤيا من اللَّه، والحلم من الشيطان، فإذا رأى أحدكم ما يكره فلينفث عن يساره (ثلاثًا) (١) (و) (٢) ليتعوذ (باللَّه) (٣) من شرها فإنها لا تضره" (٤).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say, "A good dream is from Allah Almighty, and a bad dream is from Satan. When any of you sees something bad, he should lightly spit three times to his left and seek refuge with Allah Almighty from the evil of that dream; then that dream will not harm him."
Hadith 32517
٣٢٥١٧ - حدثنا أحمد بن عبد اللَّه عن ليث بن سعد عن أبي الزبير (عن جابر) (١) قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "إذا رأى أحدكم الرؤيا يكرهها فليبصق عن يساره ثلاثًا وليستعذ باللَّه من الشيطان (٢) ثلاثًا وليتحول عن جنبه الذي كان عليه" (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you sees a dream that he dislikes, he should spit three times to his left and seek refuge with Allah three times, and change the side on which he was lying.
