Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Some people from my Ummah will certainly recite the Qur'an, and they will exit from Islam just as an arrow passes cleanly through its prey.

Hazrat Yasir bin Amr narrates that I asked Hazrat Sahl bin Hunaif: Did you ever hear the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mention the Khawarij? He replied: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he pointed with his hand towards the east and said: From here a group will emerge who will recite the Qur'an with their tongues, but the Qur'an will not go beyond their throats. They will leave the religion just as an arrow passes through its prey.

Hazrat Jabir narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: A people will come who will recite the Qur'an, but the Qur'an will never go beyond their throats. They will go out of the religion just as an arrow passes through and out of the prey.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In the last era, some people will emerge who will be young in age and foolish in intellect. They will recite the Qur'an, but it will not go beyond their throats.

Hazrat Abu Barzah narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Some people will emerge from the east; they will recite the Qur'an but it will not go beyond their throats. They will leave the religion just as an arrow passes through its prey and comes out the other side, and then they will not return to Islam.

Hazrat Ziyad bin Labeed narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned several tribulations: then he said: All this will happen when knowledge is taken away. The narrator says: I asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! How will knowledge be taken away when we recite the Qur'an and teach it to our children, and then they will teach it to their children, and thus this chain will continue until the Day of Judgment? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: May your mother lose you, O Ziyad! I thought you were the most intelligent man in Madinah! Do not the Jews and Christians recite the Torah and the Gospel, yet they do not act upon the teachings found in them?

Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: That person has not truly believed in the Qur'an who considers its prohibitions to be lawful.

Hazrat Suhaib narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Then the narrator mentioned a hadith similar to the previous one.
