Who Dislikes Saying: I Have Read the Entire Qur'an
Hadith 32088
٣٢٠٨٨ - حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي عن شقيق عن الأعمش عن أبي رزين قال: قال رجل (لحبة) (١) بن سلمة وكان من أصحاب عبد اللَّه: قرأت القرآن كله، قال: وما أدركت منه.
Hazrat Abu Razeen narrates that a man said to Hazrat Habbah bin Salamah, who was among the companions of Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him): I have recited the entire Qur'an. He replied: What have you understood from the Qur'an?!
Hadith 32089
٣٢٠٨٩ - حدثنا عفان قال: حدثنا حماد بن زيد قال: حدثنا أيوب عن نافع عن ابن عمر أنه كان يكره أن يقول: قرأت القرآن كله (١).
Hazrat Nafi' reports that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) disliked saying: "I have recited the entire Qur'an."
Hadith 32090
٣٢٠٩٠ - حدثنا ابن مهدي عن سفيان عن الأعمش عن عمرو بن مرة عن عبد اللَّه بن سلمة قال: قال حذيفة: ما (تقرؤون) (١) ربعها -يعني (براءة) (٢) (٣).
Hazrat Abdullah bin Salamah narrates that Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "You have not even recited a quarter of it." That is, he was reciting Bara'ah.
