Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abzi narrates that Hazrat Abi said: Act upon what is clear to you from the Book of Allah. And have faith in what is unclear to you, and entrust it to one who has knowledge.

Hazrat Zubaid says that Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Qur'an also has signs just as the road has signs. So whatever you understand, hold on to it firmly, and whatever is not clear to you, leave it.

Hazrat Rabi’ bin Khuthaym said: Whatever from the Qur’an becomes doubtful to you, refer it to Allah and His Messenger.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Salamah narrates that Hazrat Mu'adh said: There are clear signs for the rest of the Qur'an as well, just as there are signs on a path which are not hidden from anyone. So whatever you understand from it, do not ask anyone further about it, and whatever causes you doubt, refer it to a knowledgeable person.
