Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Mu'afis bin Imran narrates that Hazrat Umm al-Darda said: I went to Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and asked: What is the virtue of a person who recites the Qur'an over one who does not among the people of Paradise? Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) replied: Indeed, the number of ranks in Paradise is equal to the number of verses in the Qur'an. No one will enter Paradise who is superior to the one who recites the Qur'an.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Whoever has recited the Qur'an has placed the knowledge of prophethood between his sides, even though revelation is not sent to him.

Hasan narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The servant who recites the Qur'an will never experience hunger, and after that, he will never attain such affluence.

Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair narrates that Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said: Whoever recites the Qur'an and follows its teachings, Allah will grant him guidance from misguidance, and will save him from a bad reckoning on the Day of Judgment. And this is because Allah has said: So whoever follows My guidance will neither go astray nor be miserable.

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) states that Allah has taken the responsibility for the one who recites the Holy Qur'an that he will not go astray in this world nor be wretched in the Hereafter.

Hazrat Abdul Malik bin Umair says that those who recite the Qur'an are the ones with good intellect.

Hazrat Asim narrates that Hazrat Ikrimah said: Whoever recites the Qur'an will not reach old age. Then he recited this verse: So that he does not forget after knowing everything.

Hazrat Musa bin Ubaidah narrates that Hazrat Muhammad bin Ka'b said: Whoever recited the Qur'an, it is as if he has visited the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then he recited this verse: "And every person to whom this reaches, do you bear witness?"

Imam Zuhri states that Hazrat Mu'adh bin Jabal said: Whoever memorizes the Qur'an by heart, one of his prayers is accepted. If he wishes, he may ask for it quickly in this world, and if he wishes, he may reserve it for the Hereafter.
