Those Who Allowed Raising the Hands in Supplication
Hadith 31655
٣١٦٥٥ - حدثنا محمد بن فضيل عن يزيد بن أبي زياد عن (سليمان) (١) بن ⦗٣٠٦⦘ عمرو ابن الأحوص قال: (أخبرني) (٢) أبو هلال عن أبي (برزة) (٣) أن النبي ﷺ دعا على رجلين فرفع يديه (٤).
Hazrat Abu Barzah narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) invoked a curse against two men and raised his hands.
Hadith 31656
٣١٦٥٦ - حدثنا عبد الأعلى عن الجريري عن حيان بن عمير عن عبد الرحمن ابن (سمرة) (١) أن النبي ﷺ رفع يديه حيث صلى في الكسوف (٢).
Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Samurah narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised both of his hands during the solar eclipse prayer.
Hadith 31657
٣١٦٥٧ - حدثنا سهل بن يوسف عن حميد قال: سئل أنس: هل كان رسول اللَّه ﷺ يرفع يديه يعني في الدعاء؟ فقال: نعم، شكى الناس إليه ذات جمعة، فقالوا: يا رسول اللَّه، قحط المطر وأجدبت الأرض وهلك المال، (قال) (١): فرفع يديه حتى رأيت بياض إبطيه (٢).
Hazrat Humaid narrates that Hazrat Anas was asked: Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raise his hands, that is, in supplication? He replied: Yes! People complained to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the day of Jumu'ah. They said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! The rain has stopped, the land has dried up, and the livestock have perished. Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his hands so high that I saw the whiteness of his armpits.
Hadith 31658
٣١٦٥٨ - حدثنا يحيى بن أبي بكير حدثنا شعبة عن ثابت عن أنس قال: رأيت رسول اللَّه ﷺ يرفع (يديه) (١) في الدعاء حتى يرى بياض إبطيه (٢).
Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raise both his hands in supplication to such an extent that the whiteness of his armpits became visible.
