Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Saad bin Ibrahim narrates that Hazrat Talq bin Habib used to say: O Allah! Make a decisive judgment of righteousness for this Ummah, in which You honor Your friend and disgrace Your enemy, and in which actions are done only in obedience to You.

Hazrat Ubaid bin Abdul Malik narrates that the person who saw Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz standing at the place of Arafat making this supplication told me. He was saying thus and was also gesturing with his finger. O Allah! Increase the goodness of the doers of good among the Ummah of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and turn their sinners towards repentance. Then he supplicated in this manner, and also moved his finger, and (said): And with Your mercy, encompass them from behind.

Hazrat Ubaid bin Abdul Malik narrates that Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz used to supplicate as follows: O Allah! Reform that person whose being upright is better for the Ummah of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). O Allah! And destroy that person whose destruction is better for the Ummah of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
