Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abdullah bin Ja'far narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said to me: Shall I not teach you a few words which I have not even taught to Hasan and Husain? When you ask for something and you wish to succeed in it, then first recite these words! There is no deity except Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, He is Most High, Most Great. There is no deity except Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, He is Most Forbearing, Most Generous. Then ask for your need.

Hazrat Khalid narrates that Hazrat Saeed bin Al-Musayyib said: I entered the mosque and intended to stay in the mosque until morning. When the night became very long for me, and there was no one in the mosque except me, I stood up. Suddenly, I heard the sound of someone moving behind me, so I became afraid. Then someone said: O you who fill your heart with anxiety! Do not fear, nor be afraid, and say these words: O Allah! Surely You are the King, the Powerful, whatever You intend happens. Then ask for whatever matter is apparent before you. Hazrat Saeed says: After that, I never asked Allah for anything except that Allah accepted my prayer.

Hazrat Waki’ narrates that Hazrat Malik bin Mughul said: I searched for Hazrat Hakam regarding a matter of need, but I could not find him. Then I started searching for him again and found him. And Hazrat Hakam said: Hazrat Khathimah said: When any of you asks for his need from someone and his need is fulfilled, then that person should also ask Allah, the Lord of Honor, for Paradise. Perhaps that day is such that every supplication of his will be accepted in it.
