Regarding the Person Who Strikes Another with a Sword and Raises Weapons Against Him
Hadith 30861
٣٠٨٦١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا محمد بن بكر عن ابن جريج قال: أخبرني معمر عن ابن شهاب أن رجلًا ضرب رجلًا بالسيف، فلم يقطع مروان بن الحكم يده (١).
Hazrat Tawus narrates that I heard Hazrat Abdullah bin Zubair saying: Whoever raises a weapon and then puts it down, his blood is wasted and invalid, and Hazrat Tawus also held the same opinion.
Hadith 30863
٣٠٨٦٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا محمد بن بكر عن ابن جريج قال: أخبرني زياد (أن) (١) ابن شهاب أخبره قال: ضرب صفوان بن المعطل حسان بن الفربعة بالسيف في هجاء هجاه، فلم يقطع رسول اللَّه ﷺ يده (٢).
Ibn Shihab states that Safwan bin Mu'attal struck Hassan bin Fari'ah with a sword in a matter of reproach because he had reproached him, but the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not cut off his hand.
Hadith 30864
٣٠٨٦٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو أسامة عن عبيد اللَّه عن نافع عن ابن عمر قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "من رفع علينا السلاح فليس منا" (١).
Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever raises a weapon against us is not from among us.
Hadith 30865
٣٠٨٦٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا جرير عن العلاء بن المسيب عن خيثمة قال: قال عمر: ليس منا من شهر السلاح علينا (١).
Hazrat Khaythamah narrates that Hazrat Umar said: That person is not one of us who raises a weapon against us.
Hadith 30866
٣٠٨٦٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا (جرير بن) (١) عبد الحميد (أو حدثت) (٢) عنه عن منصور عن إبراهيم عن علقمة بنحوه.
Ibrahim also narrated the aforementioned statement from Hazrat Alqama.
Hadith 30867
٣٠٨٦٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا مصعب بن المقدام عن عكرمة (بن عمار) (١) (عن) (٢) إياس بن سلمة عن أبيه قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "من سل علينا السيف فليس منا" (٣).
Hazrat Salamah narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever draws a sword against us is not from among us.
Hadith 30868
٣٠٨٦٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا يحيى بن آدم عن شريك عن محمد بن عجلان عن أبيه عن أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "من رفع علينا السلاح فليس منا" (١).
Hazrat Abu Huraira narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever raises a weapon against us is not from among us.
