Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Qatadah says that I asked Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib: What if a woman deliberately marries during her waiting period (iddah)? He replied: The prescribed punishment (hadd) will be enforced upon her.

Hazrat Zuhri narrates that Marwan gave both the husband and wife forty lashes each and separated them from each other. Upon this, Hazrat Qabeesah bin Dhu’ayb said to him: If you had shown leniency and given them twenty lashes each, it would have been better.

It is narrated from Hazrat Aamir Sha'bi and Ibrahim regarding a woman who married during her 'iddah period that both of these gentlemen said: The prescribed punishment (hadd) will not be carried out on this woman.
