Hazrat Sha'bi and Hasan Basri stated: When someone slanders an entire community, he will be given lashes as a single punishment, and when he slanders different individuals, he will be given lashes as punishment for each one of them.

Yunus narrates that it is reported from Hasan Basri regarding a person who slandered an entire community. He said: As a punishment, he will be flogged for each individual among them.

Hazrat Abu Ma'shar states that it is narrated from Ibrahim regarding a person who leveled a single accusation against an entire community. He said: Only one punishment (hadd) will be enforced upon him. And Hazrat Qatadah said: It is narrated from Hasan Basri that there will be a punishment (hadd) for each individual among them.

Hazrat Sufyan states that Hazrat Hammad said: He will be given only one punishment.

Hazrat Mughira narrates that Ibrahim said: When he accuses several times, there will be only one punishment.

Hazrat Muammar says that Hazrat Zuhri used to say: When a person accuses a people with a single accusation, then only one punishment will be obligatory upon him.

Hazrat Abu Alaa narrates that it is reported from Hazrat Qatadah and Hazrat Abu Hashim regarding a man who falsely accused an entire community. You said: He will be liable to one punishment.

Hazrat Ibn Jurayj states that it is narrated from Hazrat Ata regarding a person who entered someone's household and accused them of immorality. He said: There will be one prescribed punishment (hadd).

Hazrat Abdul Kareem narrates that Hazrat Tawus said: There will be only one punishment.

Hazrat Idrees says that Hazrat Hammad stated: He will be given only one punishment.

Hazrat Hisham bin Urwah narrates that it is reported from Hazrat Urwah regarding a person who slanders an entire community. He said: If he slanders them all in a single statement, then he will be liable for punishment for each one of them. And the same ruling applies to a thief.
