Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: On the Day of Judgment, the first matter to be decided among the people will be concerning bloodshed.

Hazrat Abu Wa'il narrates that Hazrat Amr bin Shurahbil said: The very first matter to be decided among people on the Day of Judgment will be regarding bloodshed. A man will bring another man by holding his hand and will say: O Lord! He killed me! Allah, the Lord of Honor, will ask: Why did you kill him? He will say: I killed him so that so-and-so might gain honor. Then it will be said: Surely, honor is not for him; so carry the burden of your deed and go away. And a man will bring another man by holding his hand and will say: O Lord! He killed me! Allah, the Lord of Honor, will ask: Why did you kill him? He will say: I killed him so that honor might be for You. Allah will say: Surely, honor is only for Me.

Hazrat Qais bin Abad narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I will be the first person on the Day of Judgment to sit on my knees before Allah for dispute.

Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Jundab narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about those killed from his side and those killed from the side of Hazrat Muawiyah. He replied: "I and Muawiyah will come and dispute before the Throne (of Allah), and whoever among us prevails in argument, his companions will also prevail in argument."

Hazrat Ibrahim bin Muhajir states that Hazrat Ibrahim said: The first matter to be decided among the people on the Day of Judgment will be concerning blood (i.e., cases of murder).
