Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The compensation for a mukatab will be paid in proportion to his freedom—the part that is free will receive the compensation of a free person, and the part that is a slave will receive the compensation of a slave.

Hazrat Ikrimah narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The mukatab will be given the diyah of a free man in proportion to his payment.

Hazrat Yahya bin Abu Kathir narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Marwan used to say regarding the Mukatab: He will be given the blood money of a free man in proportion to the payment he has made, and for the part in which he is still a slave, the blood money of a slave will be given.

Hazrat Qatadah states that Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz said: The compensation (diyah) for the wound of a mukatab is the same as that for the wound of a slave.

Hazrat Hakam states that Ibrahim said: The compensation for his wound will be given according to the extent of its payment.

Ibrahim reports that Hazrat Shurayh said: The compensation (diyah) for the wound of a mukatab is the same as that for the wound of a slave.
