Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Whoever does not make a maternal brother an heir to blood money has indeed committed injustice.

Hazrat Umar used to consider maternal half-brothers as heirs in blood money.

Hazrat Shaibani states that Imam Shabi said: Maternal brothers will inherit the blood money, and so will every heir.

Hazrat Humaid says that Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz had written regarding maternal brothers that they will be heirs to the blood money.

Hazrat Ibn Jurayj says that I asked Hazrat Ata: Will a maternal brother become an heir? That is, of the blood money? He replied: Yes.

Hazrat A’mash says that I asked Ibrahim whether a maternal brother would inherit the blood money. He replied: Yes.

Hazrat Asim Ahwal narrates that I asked Hasan Basri about this matter. He replied: The Book of Allah is the decision for them.

Hazrat Amr bin Dinar states that Hazrat Muhammad bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Whoever does not make a maternal brother an heir to blood money has indeed committed injustice.
