Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Aslam, who was the freed slave of Hazrat Umar, narrates that Hazrat Umar gave the verdict of one camel for the tooth of a child when it was broken before it had fully emerged.

Hazrat Jabir narrates that Hazrat Amir Sha'bi said: If a child's tooth is broken before it emerges, nothing results except pain.

Hazrat Ibn Salim narrates that Hazrat Sha'bi said: When the tooth of a child is broken in such a state that it had not yet emerged, then the decision will be made by the judge.

Hazrat Ibn Jurayj states that Hazrat Ibn Shihab, regarding such a small child whose tooth has not yet emerged and he broke another child's tooth, said: Compensation will be obligatory upon him, as deemed appropriate by the judge.

Hazrat Amr narrates that Hasan Basri, regarding the tooth of a child when it has emerged, said: In this matter, two just persons will observe; if the tooth has emerged, they will determine something for it, and if the tooth has not emerged, it will be considered like the tooth of an adult.
