Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ata narrates that Hazrat Umar said: We do not take retribution for bones.

Hazrat Ibn Abi Mulaika narrates that Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said: There is no retribution (qisas) in bones.

Hazrat Husain said that Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz wrote a letter: There is no qisas (retaliation) in the breaking of a bone.

Ibrahim and Hazrat Amir Sha'bi, both of them stated: There is no retribution (qisas) in the case of a bone.

Hazrat Shaibani states that Imam Shabi said: There is no qisas (retaliation) in any bone except for the face and the head.

It is narrated from Hazrat Muammar that Imam Zuhri said: There is no retaliation (qisas) for broken bones.

Hazrat Ash'ath narrates that Imam Sha'bi and Hasan Basri, both of these personalities, stated: There is no qisas (retaliation) in bones.

Hazrat Abdul Malik states that Hazrat Ata said: When a hand or a leg is broken, there will be no qisas (retaliation) upon the one who broke them, but blood money (diyat) will be obligatory upon him.
