What Is Accidental Killing?
Hadith 28486
٢٨٤٨٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا (وكيع قال) (١): حدثنا سفيان عن جابر عن أبي عازب عن النعمان بن بشير قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "كل شيء خطأ إلا السيف، ولكل خطأ أرش" (٢).
Hazrat Nu'man bin Bashir narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Except for the sword, all other things are mistakes, and for every mistake there is compensation."
Hadith 28487
٢٨٤٨٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا سفيان عن مغيرة عن إبراهيم قال: الخطأ أن تريد شيئًا فتصيب غيره.
Ibrahim said, "‘Khata’ (mistake) is when you intend to strike one thing, but (by mistake) you kill another thing."
Hadith 28488
٢٨٤٨٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا جرير عن (مغيرة عن) (١) إبراهيم قال: الخطأ أن تصيب الإنسان ولا تريده، فذلك على العاقلة.
Ibrahim said: "‘Mistake’ is when you kill a person even though you did not intend to kill him, so the blood money for this will be upon the relatives."
