في الرجل يقول ما شاء الله وشاء فلان
Saying: What Allah Willed and So-and-So Willed
Hadith 28395
٢٨٣٩٥ - حدثنا أزهر عن ابن عون عن محمد قال: قرأت كتابا فيه ما شاء اللَّه والأمير فقال: ما شاء الأمير بعد اللَّه.
Ibn Aun narrates that Muhammad said: I read a book in which it was written: "What Allah wills and the Amir wills." He said: The Amir wills after Allah.
Hadith 28396
٢٨٣٩٦ - حدثنا غندر عن شعبة عن منصور عن عبد اللَّه بن يسار عن حذيفة قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "لا تقولوا: ما شاء اللَّه وشاء فلان، ولكن قولوا: ما شاء اللَّه ثم شاء فلان" (١).
Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not say: "What Allah willed and so-and-so willed," but rather say: "What Allah willed, then what so-and-so willed."
Hadith 28397
٢٨٣٩٧ - حدثنا علي بن مسهر عن الأجلح عن يزيد بن الأصم عن ابن (عباس) (١) قال: جاء رجل إلى النبي ﷺ فحدثه ببعض الكلام فقال: ما شاء اللَّه وشئت، فقال: "جعلتني للَّه (عدلًا) (٢)، لا، بل ما شاء اللَّه (٣) " (٤).
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that a man came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he mentioned something and said: Whatever Allah wills and you will. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: You have made me equal to Allah. Rather, say: Whatever Allah wills.
