الرجل يؤاخي الرجل، من قال: يسأله (عن) اسمه
Asking the Name of One to Whom Good Is Done
Hadith 28343
٢٨٣٤٣ - حدثنا حاتم بن إسماعيل عن عمران القصير قال: أخبرني سعيد بن (سلمان) (١) عن يزيد بن نعامة الضبي قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "إذا آخى الرجل الرجل فليسأله عن اسمه واسم أبيه وممن هو، فإنه أوصل للمودة" (٢).
Hazrat Yazid bin Ni’ama Dhabbi narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When a person does a favor for another person, he should ask him his name and his father's name, and ask which tribe he belongs to. This increases love.
Hadith 28344
٢٨٣٤٤ - حدثنا ابن علية عن ابن أبي نجيح عن مجاهد أن النبي ﷺ رأى رجلًا فسأل عنه، فقال رجل: أنا أعرف وجهه، فقال النبي ﵇: "ليس (تلك معرفة) (١) " (٢).
Hazrat Mujahid narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man and inquired about him. So a person said: I recognize his face. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This is not (true) recognition.
