Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Khalid states that Hazrat Muhammad bin Sirin considered it undesirable for three people to ride on one mount.

Hazrat Ajlah says that Imam Shabi said: Whoever three people ride on one mount, then one of them will be accursed.

Hazrat Ibn Buraidah narrates that my father saw me as the third rider behind a mounted person, so he said: "Cursed person."

Hazrat Jabir narrates that Hazrat Amir said: I set out towards the place of Hira so that I could see an elephant. Then I saw Hazrat Harith A'war riding, and there was another rider behind him. He said: If this mount had the capacity for a third person, we would have let you ride as well.

Hasan narrates that Hazrat Muhajir bin Qunfudh said: We were conversing among ourselves when three people riding on a donkey passed by. One of them said to the other: Get down, may Allah curse you. The one who cursed was told: Do you curse a human being? He replied: We have been prohibited from having three people ride on one animal.

Hazrat Abu Al-Anbas narrates that Hazrat Zadhan saw three people riding on a mule. He said: One of you should get down, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the third rider.
