Applying Musk Perfume
Hadith 28040
٢٨٠٤٠ - حدثنا وكيع عن شعبة عن (خليد) (١) بن جعفر عن أبي (نضرة) (٢) عن أبي سعيد أن النبي ﷺ ذكر (٣) المسك فقال: "هو أطيب طيبكم" (٤).
Hazrat Abu Saeed narrates that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned musk and said that it is the purest fragrance among your perfumes.
Hadith 28041
٢٨٠٤١ - [حدثنا وكيع عن ابن عون عن ابن سيرين عن ابن عمر قال: أطيب (طيبكم) (١) المسك] (٢) (٣).
Hazrat Ibn Sirin narrates that Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said: The purest fragrance among your perfumes is musk.
Hadith 28042
٢٨٠٤٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع (عن) (١) إبراهيم بن إسماعيل (٢) عن عبيد مولى سلمة عن سلمة أنه كان إذا توضأ أخذ المسك فمسح به وجهه ويديه (٣).
When Hazrat Salamah performed ablution, he would take musk perfume and apply it to his face and hands.
Hadith 28043
٢٨٠٤٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع عن محمد بن قيس عن الشعبي قال: كان عبد اللَّه بن جعفر يسحق المسك ثم يجعله على يافوخه (١).
Imam Shabi states that Hazrat Abdullah bin Ja'far would grind musk to make its powder and then would put it on the upper part of his head.
Hadith 28044
٢٨٠٤٤ - (حدثنا أبو بكر قال) (١): حدثنا وكيع عن الربيع عن ابن سيرين قال: لا بأس بالمسك للحي والميت.
Hazrat Rabee' states that Hazrat Ibn Sireen said that there is no harm in applying musk to both the living and the dead.
